The Amazonia Philanthropy Network is a community of philanthropists, grantmakers and philanthropic ecosystem architects. We work to increase and improve philanthropic investing in the Amazon forest.
Why now? We seek to foster communication and collaboration. By fostering connections among our members, we facilitate the exchange of funding opportunities, share best practices, engage with Amazonian subject matter experts, and collectively wrestle with the largest challenges in the region.
With the forest near a tipping point, it has become essential to put the Amazonian people, and nature, at the center of the debate about their future.
Who understands the forest? What are the priorities of Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities? What does the scientific community say? What does civil society say? Who are the leading grantmakers in the region? What is the role of governments? Which are helpful? Which are not? What is the role of the international community?
We invite all philanthropies and intermediaries, big and small, to consider how their strategies relate to the wider needs of the Amazon forest region, and the diverse philanthropic actors that are trying to help.
