Grantmakers – Staff of grantmaking foundations with interest in the Amazon region.
Philanthropic Ecosystem Architects – Staff of regranters and donor affinity groups with a focus on the Amazon region.
What does APN Membership Include?
Membership is free. It is by invitation and application only. Members access a set of resources to collaborate with peers in an open way. The offerings include:
Support participating in Amazonian learning journeys
Support designing RFPs
A Google Group to learn and share opportunities
A member directory
Access to special events and learning opportunities, online and offline
What values do APN members uphold?
Community members agree to the following principles:
Confidential – Information shared in the group should not be shared externally, without permission.
Fair Participation – Those who share a lot in the group should create space for others to share. Oversharing is not appreciated.
Not Selling/ Non Solicitation – Our goal is to share ideas and opportunities, not to sell our services or make fundraising pitches. This is a relational network, not a transactional network.
Membership Criteria
APN members are required to meet the following criteria:
Commitment to the Amazon – Be dedicated to helping increase and improve philanthropy for the Amazon region.
Commitment to Collaboration – Be enthusiastic to join together with others, learn, and collaborate.
Significant Capacity – Donors and philanthropic advisors should have the capacity to deploy more than $100,000 USD in philanthropic capital per year to support the Amazon, and be actively sourcing new funding opportunities. Regranters should be deploying over $500,000 USD per year. (Leaders of donor affinity groups are exempt from this criteria.)
